Split or Partial Transactions

A “split transaction” (or “split payment”) is one where partial payment is made with a PEX card, and the balance is paid either with cash or with a second card.

If the merchant allows split payments, then tell the cashier the amount you want to charge to the PEX Card, to keep the merchant’s system from declining the transaction automatically due to insufficient funds.

Some merchants do not allow split transactions.
